Assembly Picture and SolidWorks File

Forgot to post the assembly SolidWorks file. See link below.

Design Expo Today

Today at the design expo Team JAD's launcher worked well! Our base was 3D printed overnight, however we did not receive notification of its completion so we were unable to mount the launcher onto the base. However, we improvised and used a piece of balsa wood and some tape to hold the launcher in place. Because the base was not attached to the launcher there was some deflection in the launcher which caused the shot to be a little off from the inputted coordinates.

Here are two photos of the launcher at the expo today:

Base Part for 3D Printing

The link to the final version of the SolidWorks part file for the base of the Launcher is posted below so that you can re-create this project using this base, a 1" diameter PVC pipe, two servo motors, and Arudino board, some tie wraps, a ball smaller than 1" diameter to launch, and a pen cap to load the launcher.

Beginning of Wrap-Up of the Launcher Project

Last night the 3D printing file for the base of the Launcher was submitted for fabrication. The final stages of our project have begun. Things that Team JAD have completed up until this point:

- A 3D printed model of the base of the Launcher
- The coding for the Arduino circuit board is completed
- A semi-final model (only missing the 3D printed base) has been completed
- A video of the prototype in action

As an overview of the project progress this semester, we had a couple difficulties:

1. The design of the base for the Launcher started out as some duct tape on a piece of cardboard, and getting to a final design took some work.
2 .The coding for the Arduino software did not go smoothly at first, but with a lot of time put into it, the Launcher responds to commands as it should.

Overall, only two design problems (neither too catastrophic) were encountered during this project.

Another post on the whereabouts and times of the Design Expo will be posted shortly.

Team JAD Final code!

In the below Gist from Github, is Team JAD's final coding for the launcher!
The base model seen in the post before has been sent to be 3D printed, and the project is basically complete with the addition of that base!

3D Part for Printing

The final stretch of our project has arrived! We have submitted the part below for 3D printing to serve as a sturdier base for our launcher. The bottom servo motor on the launcher will fit securely in the rectangular cut out of the base as seen below.

The code that we have for the launcher will be posted soon.
